The Hall was built to commemorate the part played in the Great War by men and women from Great Alne and Kinwarton. It was originally known as the Great Alne and Kinwarton War Memorial Village Club but its name was shortened to Great Alne and Kinwarton Memorial Hall in 2008. Nevertheless it is still a War Memorial.

In order to maintain and improve the Hall we are perpetually engaged in fund raising activities of one sort or another as, unfortunately, the income generated from hiring it out is rarely sufficient to cover day-to-day operating costs.

If you would like to help us to preserve and protect this much loved building for future generations to use and enjoy perhaps you would consider becoming a Friend of Great Alne & Kinwarton Memorial Hall and making a donation either as a one off gift or on a regular basis. If so, it would be especially helpful if you could make that donation via Gift Aid as this would mean we could, as a registered charity, reclaim basic rate tax (20%) on it from HM Revenue & Customs. So, for example, a £10.00 gift would be worth £12.50 to us! Further information about Gift Aid is available from the attached guidance note. A Gift Aid Declaration form is also attached.

Another thought! If you are feeling really generous, why not make a bequest to the Hall in your Will?! All bequests made to registered charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax, so this too is a very tax efficient way of giving. Again, more information is available from the attached guidance note.
